"daisy dew two"

18 x 24”

acrylic on canvas.

I love the rebirth of life in springtime. Capturing that rebirth in paintings of flowers is about as natural and organic as painting can get.

As a teenager, I was inspired and in awe of the Dutch and Flemish artists who rendered flowers picture-perfect, down to the mosquitoes on their petals.

Growing up in Wisconsin, I learned to love nature in the form of forests and farm fields.

After spending a decade living in the Netherlands, I came to appreciate how integral beauty of flowers and plants are to life.

So “why another painting of daisies?” As a Wisconsinite, that's like asking me, “why another Packer game?”

What my paintings lack in detail, I hope they make up for in artistic spontaneity.
