My parents met in Denmark in 1958, when my dad took a semester off college to work on a Danish farm.

After two years of corresponding the old fashioned way (writing letters on paper), my mom immigrated to Wisconsin. She brought a few Danish customs and traditions with her…

And so, tiny versions of the "Dannebrog" (the Danish flag) decorated our family’s Christmas tree every year.

As Christmas 2021 approached, I felt compelled to paint a small version of the "Dannebrog."
